Our area was hit with a winter storm a couple nights ago that covered the entire area with 2" of ice on top of about 3" of snow. It made for horrible driving conditions as you can imagine, sent the kids out on an early Christmas break, was a bear to shovel from the drive way and tore down many tree branches that buckled under the weight, but oh were the trees ever BEAUTIFUL! As the sun came out and glistened off the ice the trees looked like they were made of glass. Totally surreal and one of the gifts from nature that makes me pause, gasp... and throw down my shovel and run for my camera.
And then I had to get back to shoveling... :-D
